These specialized Cine Lens service tools are intended for full-time professional cine lens service technicians. These are the same tools I used to overhaul hundreds of cine lenses, and they are designed to last a lifetime.
Along with training and experience, special tools are one of the essential keys to becoming a master cine lens technician.
Lens service tools are becoming scarce as many of the traditional basic tools, such as the Rolyn and Edmund Optics spanner are no longer available. My advice remains the same: Buy what is available now.

ARRI LPL-62 Lens Testing Mount for Richter M-2 Focal Plane Micrometer
This mount fits Richter Cine M-2 Focal Plane Micrometers and holds any ARRI LPL mount lens securely. It has a stainless steel LPL flange, and one piece Richter thread/flange. This design is more stable and much stronger than the original Richter objectives.
Rotation stop position is adjustable. Precisely calibrated to 44.00mm +/- 0.005 in our lab using our Swiss Sylvac comparator and NIST certified gage blocks.
The ARRI LPL Mount was introduced decades after Richter Cine stopped making its products. This is the only way to get LPL on your Richter M-2, and we are not making any more of these test mounts.

Richter Cine 130mm Collimator Objective - calibrated
This is the LAST Richter objective I have available. It has been serviced and calibrated will be the last calibrated Richter collimator objective offered for sale. The lens element has coating scratches, and an area of coating rub on the vertex of the front element (does not affect accuracy or image quality) so it is being offered at a highly discounted price.
NOTE: I am no longer reconditioning or calibrating any Richter Cine products. Support for these items is only available to existing lens testing equipment customers prior to 2024.
In 2026 I will be introducing a series of all new collimator items that will maintain compatibility with the Richter R-2 Collimator Block and M-2 Focal Plane Micrometer.
Original Manufacturer Factory Lens Service Tools
For the first time ever I am offering factory cine lens service tools. These are the exact same tools used by the factory technicians that build these lenses. They are my personal tools and I only have ONE of each item.
These tools are manufactured in very limited numbers by cine lens manufacturers. Service tool production typically end 5-7 years prior to the end of production of the lenses, so none of these tools are still available from the manufacturers.
Professional Grade Equipment
In over 25 years I have never offered any of my cine lens service tools for sale. If you are interested do not hesitate as there will not be another opportunity like this.
Training for the purchaser of the tools can be arranged, with some conditions: It can only be on the weekend, it has to be at your facility, and you have to cover travel costs.

Carl Zeiss Factory Tools
Carl Zeiss Factory Ultra Prime Service Tool Set
This is the basic tool set needed to overhaul the Zeiss Ultra Primes (UP). The first two tools are the exact same ones used by Zeiss technicians to build these lenses in Oberkochen. These three tools are required for every focal length in the UP set except the 10mm which is a re-sleeved Distagon T* 2/10.
When these tools were available it would take six months lead time between ordering and receiving the tool.

- 1052-848 (CZ Tool Number 102221-0024-901): Special friction driver - for removal of plain ring behind PL mount, also works for CP.2 and Master Prime. Original Zeiss Oberkochen
- 1052-854 (CZ Tool Number 102221-0027-902): Special spanner - for ring on UP that sets focus preload and controls focus torque. Original Zeiss Oberkochen
Zeiss Ultra Prime Guide Alignment Tool
ST-1057-198 (CZ Tool Number 102221-0000): Special Alignment Tool - for alignment of the Ultra Prime linear guides. Custom made by CinemaTechnic to Zeiss specifications based on a design by ARRI USA for a less massive and costly tool (the original Zeiss tool cost $5254.00 before discontinuation).
This tool was made for me by a super-precision machine shop that made components for an artificial heart company. I could not get a tool like this made today for less than 3x the price.
Zeiss Ultra Prime Tools will be sold as a set only. This set will not be split up.
ARRI Zeiss Master Prime Service Tools
I was the first lens technician in the U.S. to be trained on the complete service procedure of the Master Primes, and the first to be certified at the Authorized Service Partner level by Carl Zeiss.
I have a number of special tools that I designed and made to facilitate the overhaul of the Master Primes. I will be listing these in the future.
Zeiss High Speed (Super Speed) Lens Tools
This is a special tool I made to facilitate removal and installation of the retaining ring on the original Zeiss Super Speed lenses with ARRI Bayonet mount produced between 1975 and 1982.
Zeiss original High Speed (Super Speed) T1.4 Iris Service Tool + Spare Parts
This is a custom tool I designed and precision fabricated to facilitate servicing the very tricky Reuleaux triangle 9-bladed iris on the original Zeiss Super Speed T1.4 lenses.
These lenses are also frequently and incorrectly called "B-Speed". This tool allows you to work comfortably to place the iris blades on the drive plate in the correct sequence (three overlapping sets).
Spare parts included: "Unobtanium" original Zeiss T1.4 iris blades, iris drive disk, and a slotted disk.
P+S Technik Evolution Anamorphic Service Tools
I designed and custom built these tools and parts to address the alignment of the cylindrical triplet lens group (front lens group) on the P+S Technik Evolution Anamorphic Lenses.
The tool set consists of a special cylinder spanner wrench to loosen the retaining ring on the P+S Evolution lens, and a special alignment tool (the larger ring) that allows you to precisely rotate the front group while observing the image on an autocollimator or lens test projector.

CinemaTechnic custom modification
My solution is custom made precision brass plates which fit into the groove. These are held by special Torx head screws. This distributes the holding force over a much larger area and provides room for adhesives to fix the adjustment.
If you are a rental house with P+S Evolution Anamorphic lenses in your inventory, you can save thousands per year in service labor charges by having these tools in your kit.
