Introducing our new Digital Cinematography product line

Notice you don't see the words "Video" or "DV" anywhere on this site? Thats because we dont do Video or DV. For a long time, CinemaTechnic was a "film only" company, we only dealt with professional 16mm and 35mm cine equipment. This was the only equipment available that provided enough image quality for our customers needs.

We now feel the time is right to enter the electonic imaging field. Electronic imaging technology has finally caught up. For the first time, electronic cameras are now available that provide image quality that is sufficent for feature film production. At CinemaTechnic we like to call this "Digital Cinema". We think that Digital Cinema is in its infancy, much like shooting CinemaScope in 1954, but of course, that just the beginning.

No, we are not talking about anything DV here. Face it, anyone can go and buy a DV camera at the local electronics store. Regardless of what anyone else tells you, we strongly believe that DV cameras are for shooting baby's first steps not for making movies. Don't be fooled by the DV hype.

Professional broadcast video cameras are certainly acceptable for work that only needs to be displayed on NTSC television. However, that is not our business either. There are plenty of well established broadcast video equipment companies that can help you.

However, if you are looking to produce the finest possible images with an electronic camera (and that means that you are shooting with the CineAlta, Varicam or Viper), then you are in the right place. Although we don't represent the cameras themselves, we do offer the ABSOLUTE BEST accessories for Digital Cinema.
